I've never been one that likes to set goals because I HATE not being able to achieve them but, none-the-less I decided to set myself 2 goals for the summer.
Goal #1: Teach Avery to ride a 2-wheel bike
Goal #2: Teach Avery how to read
I realize these are both Avery related goals and it's not that I'm favoring her over the boys. It's just that Avery and Jess have had their fair share of "issues" over the last five years and it's best that I attempt to teach her these life skills and spare them any more drama. I know it's not summer yet but the kids had a day off from school and the weather was beautiful so I packed up there bikes and them and headed to a local grade school. It took exactly ONE try and she had it! She was off and riding by herself goal #1 accomplished. My sister soon joined us with her two kids and I was hoping for some more practice out of Avery but no such luck. She had absolutely no interest in continuing to ride. Oh well......job well done.

Fearless
That was the theme for Mother's Day weekend. Now I would love to say that it's because we as mothers are fearless at times, but really it was all about the raccoon. This little critter provided over an hour of entertainment around our campfire just because I threw out a few left over chips. He just got braver and braver on his hunt for food and our campsite was his perfect haven with 7 kids running around dropping tidbits of food as they go. We spent Friday to Sunday at Silver Falls campground hiking, eating, playing and just sitting around. IT WAS GREAT! A Mother's Day weekend to remember for sure!
